The heartwood is dark brown with bold, black streaks and hints of purple, while the sapwood is creamy white. Despite being very hard, it tools easily with minimal tear out. These turning blanks are available in an assortment of sizes for carvings, bottle stoppers, chess pieces, tool handles, table legs, spindles, finials, candlesticks, bowls, platters and whatever else your imagination can conjure up!
