These paste wood fillers sink into the pores of open-grained woods like oak, walnut and mahogany, leaving a perfectly smooth, flat surface for your finish. Yields a glass-smooth surface for French polishes and high-gloss finishes. Dries overnight, and sands easily once dried. Choose from Dark, Natural and Light to match the color of your wood. Quart, pint or half-pint.
To achieve a smooth surface:Sand surface thoroughly and clean with a tack cloth.Stir before using. Apply a full even coat of filler across the surface, rubbing into the grain. Work a small area at a time, i.e. a drawer front, chest side etc. Allow to set 3-5 minutes.Remove excess filler by drawing a plastic or hard rubber straight edge across the grain. Remove any residue with burlap or a coarse cloth. DO NOT WIPE WITH THE GRAIN.Allow the filler to dry overnight.Sand to desired texture, leaving the filler only in the grain. Note: Filler belongs in the grain, not on the surface. Filler on the surface will inhibit staining.Clean with a tack cloth before staining or applying a finish.In some instances a second application will further improve the surface, especially on deep-grained wood.NOTE: Filling can be done before or after staining.Do not thin.Please note that this item can only be shipped to addresses within the continental United States by UPS Ground only.
